This season carries special significance—it marks 20 years since our first winter collection. Two decades may have passed, yet in many ways, it feels like only yesterday that we introduced Australians to the idea of elevated basics. Many of you may remember our debut collection. A small capsule of knitwear, designed with a clear vision: beautifully made, minimal, and lasting pieces that transcend seasons.
“In 2004, everything was about embellishment and designer logos,” recalls Lisa ‘Jack’ Dempsey, who co-founded Jac + Jack alongside Jacqueline ‘Jac’ Hunt. “We wanted to do something different—let the quality of raw materials speak for itself. At the time, cashmere hadn’t really entered the Australian market, and it became the foundation of our first collection. Two decades later, that same ethos remains at the heart of what we do."
A lot of time goes into sourcing our fabrics, as they’re the lifeblood of everything we do. It’s what sets us apart, our connection to the makers and origin of every piece we produce.
Our philosophy has stayed constant. Each collection refines what has come before, with a focus on perfecting fit, fabric, and form. For Winter 25, we continue to build upon our signature aesthetic—timeless, considered fashion. This season draws from themes of graphic hard edges, utilitarian styling, and 90s minimalism.
“A key influence was soft, rustic brutalism,” explains Jac. “We explored natural tones, textured surfaces, heavy sweaters, unique knit stitches, and pieces with a brushed or fuzzy finish.”
This translates into foundational wardrobe staples crafted from the finest baby wool, double-brushed cashmere, and a sweater that echoes one of our very first designs—reinforcing the enduring nature of our pieces. Fabric remains central to everything we create, from sourcing to construction. It is what defines Jac + Jack: our connection to makers, to origin, to process.
Gloss emerges as another element this season. “You’ll see a subtle sheen in our suiting, waxed denim, and satin pieces,” says Jac. “But it’s never about wearing gloss head to toe. We love contrast—pairing a silk blouse under a structured wool coat, or teaming a high-shine piece with a utilitarian pant.”
Sharpness in detail and structure informs the collection’s silhouettes. Precise pin stitching, stiffened fabrics, and crinoline hems bring an architectural edge to skirts and trousers, creating clean, refined lines.
Our collections build on what’s come before, fine-tuning a design and executing it to the highest level. We are always iterating, refining and perfecting.
Then there’s abundance, which is what we do best,” adds Jac. “Layers and layers of luxurious fabrics that cocoon you, whether they be natural fibres, cashmere, merino wool, or the finest cottons and silk.” Signature neutrals remain, with nuanced tones punctuated by bold accents—Aquis blue, Fame orange—balanced against deeper, moodier hues such as our colour Binks, inspired by Chanel’s cult nail polish, Vamp.
For menswear, the approach is understated yet intentional. A modular wardrobe designed to move seamlessly from work to a long lunch at Totti’s. Jackets, shirts, pants, and shorts with refined utilitarian details, alongside cashmere essentials and relaxed suiting in shades like Dark Mariner blue, Python green, and Cub brown.
