WOOL CARE GUIDE

Wool is a winter essential at Jac + Jack, chosen for its natural warmth, durability and refined finish. We work with Australian merino and specialist European mills to create coats, jackets and knitwear defined by ease, structure and longevity.

HOW TO WASH WOOL

Wool does not need frequent washing. Letting it air in a well-ventilated area is often enough. Wash only when necessary. If required, hand washing is preferred.

Always check the care label first. We recommend the Leif x Jac + Jack delicates and cashmere detergent, a gentle pH-neutral, plant-based formula.

  • Turn inside out before washing
  • Hand wash in cold to lukewarm water using a gentle wool detergent, avoiding prolonged soaking
  • If machine washing, use the wool or delicate cycle using a mesh laundry bag
  • Do not wring or tumble dry
  • Roll gently in a clean towel to remove excess water
  • Lay flat to dry, reshaping as needed, away from direct sunlight or heat
  • Do not hang while wet

Alternatively, a mild dry clean is suitable.

HOW TO MANAGE STAINS

  • Act quickly by gently blotting the stain with a damp, clean cloth - do not rub
  • If needed, treat with a wool-safe stain remover or a small amount of mild detergent diluted with water, gently blotting with a soft cloth or brush. Turn the garment inside out and rinse thoroughly with cold water
  • For persistent stains, consult a specialist dry cleaner

HOW TO REMOVE CREASES

  • Gently steam on a low setting while the garment is on a padded hanger, moving in soft downward strokes
  • If ironing, always check the care label first. Use a wool or medium heat setting and place a pressing cloth between the iron and garment to protect the fibres. Iron gently, avoiding excessive pressure or stretching.
  • For structured wool tailoring or coats, professional pressing may be preferred, and care label guidance should always be followed before applying heat.

HOW TO STORE WOOL

  • Fold and store flat
  • Keep in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight
  • Avoid damp environments and ensure garments are fully dry before storing.
