SILK CARE GUIDE
Everyday silk is a Jac + Jack signature, defined by its fluidity, drape and natural lustre. We’ve worked with this fibre for over two decades, drawn to its lightweight, breathable and naturally thermoregulating qualities. Our refined silk is more durable than it appears, and with considered care, our pieces will remain beautiful for years to come.
HOW TO WASH SILK
Silk does not need frequent washing. Letting it air in a well-ventilated area, on a padded hanger, is often enough. Wash only when necessary, hand washing or mild dry cleaning is recommended.
Always check the care label first. We recommend the Leif x Jac + Jack delicates and cashmere detergent, a gentle pH-neutral, plant-based formula.
- Hand wash in cold water using a gentle detergent suitable for silk
- Do not soak, wring or tumble dry
- Dry flat in shade
- Alternatively, a mild dry clean may be suitable
HOW TO MANAGE STAINS
- Act quickly by gently blotting the stain with a damp, clean cloth - do not rub
- If needed, treat with a small amount of silk safe or gentle detergent diluted with water and rinse carefully with cold water. Avoid excessive moisture and always test on an inconspicuous area where possible.
- For persistent stains, consult a specialist dry cleaner
HOW TO REMOVE CREASES
Always read the care label before applying heat to your silk garment.
- Steam where possible, avoiding water droplets
- If using an iron, a low heating setting, turn the garment inside out and use a pressing cloth
HOW TO STORE SILK
- Hang on a padded hanger or fold carefully
- Keep in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight
- Avoid spraying perfume or deodorant directly onto or around the garment, as this may leave marks or cause staining
- Avoid damp environments and ensure garments are fully dry before storing
