LINEN CARE GUIDE

Linen is a natural fibre derived from the flax plant and is widely considered one of the more sustainable fabric choices. Valued for its breathability, lightweight feel and ease of wear, it is a natural choice for warmer weather. Relaxed by nature, it has a beautiful texture and softness that only improves over time.

At Jac + Jack, our linen shirts, shorts and tailoring are designed with a focus on comfort and ease, and that lived-in feel. The beauty of linen is in its durability. With every wear and wash, the fabric softens further while maintaining its character.

HOW TO WASH LINEN

Uncomplicated to care for, linen is made to be worn often and kept for years.

Always check the care label first. We recommend the Leif x Jac + Jack everyday laundry detergent, a gentle pH-neutral, plant-based formula.

  • Wash inside out to protect colour and surface texture
  • Hand wash in cold water or lukewarm water using a mild detergent
  • Or machine wash on a gentle cycle
  • Do not bleach unless specified
  • If tumble drying, avoid high heat. Line drying in the shade is preferred

HOW TO MANAGE STAINS

  • Act quickly by gently blotting the stain with a damp, clean cloth - do not rub
  • If needed, treat with a small amount of mild detergent diluted with water, gently blotting with a soft cloth or brush. Turn the garment inside out and rinse thoroughly with cold water
  • For persistent stains, consult a specialist dry cleaner

HOW TO REMOVE CREASES

Creasing is a natural characteristic of linen and part of its relaxed, lived-in appeal.

  • Steam where possible
  • If using an iron, use a medium to high heat setting while the fabric is slightly damp, turn the garment inside out and use a pressing cloth

HOW TO STORE LINEN

  • Fold heavier items and store flat. Hang lighter pieces
  • Keep in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight
  • Avoid damp environments and ensure garments are fully dry before storing
