CASHMERE CARE GUIDE

At Jac + Jack, cashmere has been part of our story from the beginning. Warm, lightweight and refined, it is understated luxury, defined by exceptional softness, quality and longevity. Considered an investment, cashmere is a timeless wardrobe essential.

HOW TO WASH CASHMERE

Cashmere does not need frequent washing; letting it air in a well-ventilated area is often enough. Wash only when necessary. If required, hand washing is preferred.

Always check the care label first. We recommend the Leif x Jac + Jack delicates and cashmere detergent, a gentle pH-neutral, plant-based formula.

  • Turn the garment inside out before washing
  • Hand wash in cold water using a gentle, cashmere-safe detergent
  • Soak the garment for 15 minutes before rinsing with cold water
  • Do not rub, wring or tumble dry
  • Roll gently in a clean towel to remove excess water
  • Lay flat to dry on a fresh towel, away from direct sunlight or heat
  • Reshape while damp and smooth gently by hand
  • Never hang cashmere to dry

HOW TO MANAGE STAINS

  • Act quickly by gently blotting the stain with a damp, clean cloth - do not rub
  • If needed, treat with a cashmere-safe stain remover or a small amount of mild detergent diluted with water, gently blotting with a soft cloth or brush. Turn the garment inside out and rinse thoroughly with cold water
  • For persistent stains, consult a specialist dry cleaner

HOW TO REMOVE CREASES

  • Gently steam on a low setting while the garment is on a padded hanger, moving in soft downward strokes
  • Smooth any remaining creases by hand, reshaping as needed

HOW TO STORE CASHMERE

  • Fold and store flat
  • Keep in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight
  • Avoid damp environments and ensure garments are fully dry before storing

HOW TO CARE FOR CASHMERE

  • Pilling is a natural characteristic of cashmere, caused by fibre friction during wear. It can be gently removed using a cashmere comb or electric depiller. We recommend light de-pilling every few wears to maintain appearance and longevity
  • Snags can be repaired by gently drawing the loose yarn to the inside of the garment and securing with a small knot if needed
