Furoshiki Gift Wrap

Alongside our in store festive campaign featuring beautiful window installations and wishing trees, we are offering furoshiki wrapping cloth in bright ombre colours with our compliments in store and online at jacandjack.com.

As our gift wrap is so beautifully unique, we wanted to take you through the history and process behind it.

Furoshiki is a traditional Japanese artform and a considered way to gift wrap. It is reusable and multi-functional and does not require glue, stickers or ribbon, making it friendly to our earth.

These square-shaped decorative fabrics offer a sustainable alternative to paper gift wrapping, with our fabric made in India using beautiful lightweight cotton in ombre, hand-dyed patterns.

To replicate this form of wrapping with any piece of fabric at home, follow the below steps.

Source a piece of fabric (ideally, square - ours are 70cm x 70cm) and lay it flat on a large surface.

Place your gift in the centre - rectangular or square formations will work best. Take two opposite corners of the wrap and fold towards the centre, to size.

And then the final step - deliver to your loved one. This wrapping method can be repeated as many times as need be, preserving its function and charm with time.
